Cretaro nominated for monthly award
Sligo Rovers’ Raffaele Cretaro is one of six players nominated for August’s SWAI/SSE Airtricity League player of the month award for August.
Cretaro was also the last Bit O’Red player to be nominated for the monthly gong, back in September 2016.
The Tubbercurry native broke the club’s record league appearance tally when he came on for Regan Donelon in the 70th minute of the 2-0 defeat to Dundalk at the Showgrounds in August.
He also played a key part in two vital wins last month.
He came off the bench at the Markets’ Field to set one up and score a telling third goal in the win over Limerick.
The same man also emerged from the sidelines to score the winning goal in the recent victory over Cork City at Turner’s Cross.
The winner will decided by members of the SWAI and will be announced later this month.
