1 THREE HAIL MARYS
Tommy Marren, of The Real McCoy and Nobody’s Talking to Me fame, brings his latest comedy to the Hawk’s Well theatre from Thursday until Saturday. It follows the story of 3 Marys who have spent a decade in the same nursing home and now is the time to bid farewell to each other with one last hooley. Nightly from 8pm. Tickets €22/20.
2 BRIGID MAE POWER
This Irish singer/songwriter has toured around the world with her music and the multi-instrumentalist paints her songs in dreamily expansive strokes. She has toured with numerous artists and comes to the Model on Saturday at 9pm. Tickets €8/6.
3 DAVID KITT
This Sunday sees David Kitt, the acclaimed singer/ songwriter playing the Hawk’s Well at 8pm. He will be joined by Margie Jean Lewis on vocals and violin in what should be a fantastic night’s entertainment.
4 MEMORIAL RUN
A special memorial run in memory of the late James Feely of Tubbertelly is taking place on Sunday from 12:30pm at St Nathy’s Hall, Mullinabreena. All tractors, bikes and vintage cars are welcome. All proceeds are going towards the Irish Heart Foundation and a defibrillator at Nace O’Dowd Park.
5 MEN OF THE WEST
On Sunday in the Coleman Centre Gurteen, Men of the West, a group of musicians from Maam in Connemara and Foxford will take to the stage. The group, Stephen Doherty, Pat Coyne and David Doocey have a string of All-Ireland titles among them. 8:30pm. Tickets €12.
6 COASTAL CHALLENGE
Easkey’s annual Coastal Challenge a 42km cycle will take place on Saturday. It will be the same route as previous years finishing at the Easkey Community Centre. Registration from 9am with the cycle at 10:30am.
7 SING YOUR HEART OUT
Michele Feeney leads these intense vocal coaching sessions in the Hawk’s Well which runs from tomorrow, September 12th until October 24th. Aimed at both adults and children, it doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or improver, Michele will help you find your true voice. 80 for 6 weeks. Times; 4 - 4.50pm for ages 8-12yrs, 5 - 5.50pm for ages 13+yrs, (secondary school students) and 6.30 - 7.30pm for adults.
8 INVITED ARTISTS AT THE HAMILTON GALLERY
As 2018 marks 100 years since the end of WW1, the Hamilton Gallery is currently running an exhibition that reflects on the many Irish people who lost their
lives. WB Yeats’s poem An Irish Airman Foresees His Death has been chosen as the theme for their Invited Artists exhibition which runs until September 29th.
9 CHARLESTON DANCE CLASSES
Charleston Dance classes start on Wednesday September 12th from 7.30 pm to 9 pm and will run for three weeks in the Glen’s Centre. Bloomin Fabulous’ JoAnne will make sure that you ‘ll know your shake from your shimmies by the time the very glamorous Gatsby Ball takes place on September 28th in The Clayton Hotel Sligo .
