A 24-year-old man who pleaded guilty to public order and possession of a bread knife was given the Probation Act. Felipe Fernandez of Millbrook Apartments, JFK Parade pleaded guilty to the offences on May 9 th last at Strandhill Road.

Inspector Donal Sweeney said gardaí arrived to the scene at Kevinsfort after a man was banging on doors. He tried to get into the patrol car and was holding a bread knife and had drink taken. He had no previous conviction­s. Ms Laura Spellman solicitor (defending) said her client went for drinks with work colleagues and went to a party after. He had very little recollecti­on and said his drink may have been spiked. It was completely out of character and he was trying to get into the patrol car for help, she added.
