Racing fixtures for 2019

THE 2019 Fixture List for Irish racing has been released by Horse Racing Ireland.

Announcing the 2019 Fixture List, Brian Kavanagh, Chief Executive of HRI said:“The 2019 fixture list has been developed with the needs of both the customer and those working in the industry in mind.

“2019 will be an exciting year for Irish racing and the publicatio­n of the fixture list today certainly whets the appetite,” he added.

There will once again be 8 race meetings to look forward to in Sligo. The first meeting is a Sunday race on April 28th.

The next meeting is on Tuesday, May 21st, with another Tuesday evening meeting on June 18th.

There will be a Sunday meeting on July 14th with the popular 2-day summer festival which includes Ladies Day taking place on Wednesday, August 7th and Thursday, August 8th.

Another evening meeting will take place on August 20th while the final meeting of the 2019 calendar is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 25th.

The 2018 season has been another busy one for the Cleveragh racecourse with punters coming along to enjoy some top-class racing. The season is finishing on Thursday, September 27th with the hugely popular Students Day race meeting. The first of the 7 National Hunt races begins at 1:55 and gates are open at 12pm.

Kathryn Foley, Manager of Sligo Races said: “We are once again delighted to welcome our Students to Sligo Races for one of the most exciting race days of the season.

“We acknowledg­e the work of the Students Union in Sligo IT in organising the event and also St. Angela’s College.

“We look forward to seeing you all at the racecourse on race day,” Kathryn added.
