Cadra is currently writing to all nominated presidenti­al Candidates requesting our area be declared a poster free zone and are awaiting responses. We will keep our community informed on progress and you can call your local representa­tive requesting their cooperatio­n with this objective.

FIT – CAMP CLASSES

This class will be held each Monday and Thursday evening in Carraroe Community Centre. Lose Weight and Tone Up in a fun and enjoyable environmen­t. Men and Women of all fitness levels welcome. SENIORS ALARM SCHEME

Anyone over 65 is eligible. Anyone that already has the alarm is advised to were the pendent at all times including in bed. LINE DANCING RETURNS

Brand new Beginner Level Line Dancing Class in Carraroe Community Centre at 8 p.m. each Monday night. For more informatio­n please contact Gary at 085 7819808.

25 CARD GAME

The first game of progressiv­e 25 for this season in Carraroe Community Centre took place on Tuesday night last. Winners on 12 Games were John Snee/ Thomas McCarrick. Runners-up on 11 Games were Nigel Durkan John McLean. The regular game continues each Tuesday night at 9 p.m. Usual jackpot and prizes on the night. All proceeds go to local projects in the community.

CPR/DEFIBRILLA­TORS

Please note the Defibs are located at Community Centre and Community Field Clubhouse. The code is posted beside the machine. Please be aware CCTV is in operation. We will be organising full refresher training over the next few months. If anyone wishes to be trained in CPR/Defib please call 087 2222835 and we will place name on list.

ST JOHN’S FC

Underage training takes place each Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Cuilbeg for more info see Facebook page.

TIDY TOWNS

Cadra say sincere thanks to everyone who assisted with keeping the area looking so well and litter-free. Thanks also to our local residents who assisted with planting our Raised Bed which is a focal point at the centre of our community. The National Awards will be presented in Helix Dublin on Monday, September 24, at 4 p.m. We will then receive our adjudicato­rs report and will circulate to all residents.

SCHOOL PARKING

A new School Parking Safety Plan has been developed in consultati­on with all stakeholde­rs including parents’ associatio­n, board of management, Garda, Sligo County Council and Local Residents. Please take time to review this School Traffic Safety Plan and consider how your actions can protect our children, reduce traffic congestion and demonstrat­e respect to neighbours.

BUS SERVICE

Cadra is working with Bus Eireann to have the Sligo Town Bus Service restored to Carraroe Retail Park and extended to the community centre area. While it is not agreed we welcome the progress to date and will continue our efforts to have a full regular service restored to our area which was removed during the recession. DANCING

Dance class followed by live band each Wednesday night in Carraroe Community Centre Sligo. Dance class commences at 8.30 p.m. with live band following Tomorrow night Wednesday the 19th 3’s Country will provide the live music. Learn to jive, waltz, Quick Step and more. Bernard Leddy will run self-defence course from Tuesday, September 18, 7 p.m. till 8.30 p.m. at the Depot Dromahair. To register just turn up on the first night. The course is six weeks long and will run every Tuesday night and costs €55.

Sue’s classes are back on Monday at 7.30 p.m. Top to Toe fitness and Wednesdays Women’s fitness class 7.30.

Dromahair Toddler Group on Tuesdays in the Depot at 11 a.m.

Ireland’s Biggest coffee morning together with Bewley’s in aid of North West Hospice. Dromahair Hospice Support Group are organising a coffee morning in aid of North West Hospice at the Depot Back Line Dromahair on Thursday, September 20, from 10 a.m. 1 p.m. Please support this worthy cause.
