1 ALL IRELAND WHEELBARROW CHAMPIONSHIPS
The All Ireland Wheelbarrow Championships take place at IT Sligo this Sunday from 2pm. The funds will go towards opening a maternity bereavement room in the hospital. The event is free to the general public to attend and support. There will be bouncy castles, face painting, ice cream van, food, music etc.
2 THE WAY WE WERE
A special evening celebrating Sligo history will take place at the Hawk’s Well Theatre tomorrow (Wednesday). This evening will feature keynote speaker: historian John O’Callaghan, Dr Marion McGarry, Adrian O’Neill & Treasa Nealon all of whom will share tales of bygone days. Let the variety and breath of speakers transport you back in time! Tickets include complementary tea or coffee.
3 PAUL BYROM IN CONCERT

4 CHERISH THE LADIES
Super-group, Cherish the Ladies return to the Hawk’s Well Theatre this September on Sunday the 23rd as they tour their new album, Heart of the Home. Heart of the Home is a riveting live show that includes a spectacular blend of virtuoso instrumental talents, beautiful vocals, captivating arrangements and stunning step dancing. Tickets for this event are €20 with a special half price rate of €10 for those under 18.
5 DAVID LYTTLE
Drummer David Lyttle is Ireland’s most celebrated jazz musician of today. He’s the island’s only MOBO Award nominee and has made appearances in over 25 countries. He comes to Anderson’s Bar and Grill, Sligo, this Thursday, September 20th. Entry is free.

Singer, songwriter and musician, Collette Sheerin launches her second solo album at the Hawk’s Well Theatre on Saturday, September 22nd. Watershed Hours is a collection of carefully chosen songs and music that has elements of folk, rock and pop. Tickets for this event are €15 with a special half price rate of €7.50 for those under 18.
7 PHIL TAYLOR DARTS EXHIBITION
Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor darts exhibition takes place at The Hill Hotel, Gurteen this Friday, September 21st. The event takes place in association with STOP Suicide. Tickets are available on ticketstop.ie.
8 NO SMOKE WITHOUT FIRE
A comic drama by Paddy Murray, full of sharp Dublin wit, the story of Larry, the cash, the camper van and the deceased husband, starring acclaimed acress Mary Murray, comes to the Hawk’s Well on Friday, September 21st as part of culture night. This is a free event.
9 CULTURE NIGHT AT THE GLENS CENTRE
There is a jam-packed schedule of events at The Glens Centre, Manorhamilton, for Culture Night, this Friday. At 4pm there will be a film screening of The Breadwinner, based on the best-selling children’s novel by Deborah Ellis. At 8pm, Splódar Theatre Company presents the Irish premiere of A Dream of Dying by Treasa Nealon. Then between 9pm to 10.30pm, pop up to Manorhamilton Castle to experience Myths & Legends at the Castle.
10 FAMILY FRIENDLY CLAY WORKSHOP
Thomas Connolly’s pub plays host to a family friendly clay workshop this Friday, September 21st, as part of culture night. Children and adults are invited along to make sculptures in clay under the tuition of artist Bettina Seitz from 16:30.
