Punched man who was sitting in his car

A man who punched another man who was sitting is his car did so as he had allegedly made threats against his children, Sligo District Court was told.

Summoned for assault was Michael Kilcullen of Pebble Beach, Enniscrone who admitted assaulting Krzysztof Knapik at Main Street, Enniscrone on July 17 th last. Sergeant Derek Butler said the defendant approached a car in which the victim was sitting and punched him a across the head a number of times.

It was alleged the victim had made threats against his children.

Mr Mark Mullaney, solicitor (defending) pleaded that the defendant, a father of a number of young children no longer bore any ill will against Mr Krzysztof who was unable to attend court.

Judge Kilrane fined the defendant €200.
