The Sligo Champion

‘We have a great mix of youth and experience’

-

FORMER Tourlestrane player Richard Kennedy gives his thoughts on the upcoming semi-final with Coolera/ Strandhill on Sunday...

“Coolera/Strandhill are our opposition next weekend and a very formidable challenge they will pose. They are a very fine team with excellent individual footballers. Coolera/Strandhill have a history of upsetting the odds as they did in the last round of the championship by putting St Mary’s out.

“So we will have to ensure we are prepared for a real battle and leave no stone unturned if we are to prevail. We have a great mix of youth and experience in our team the benefit of that is when our young players look for leadership when the chips are down where would you find finer more dependable leaders than the likes of Shane Dunne, John Marren, Brian Kennedy, Pat Harte and Gary Gaughan to name but a few. If you cut these men their blood runs green and gold. I hope that with a little luck, a lot of hard work and the experience we have we will be successful.

“Best of luck to all involved. Up Tourlestrane!”
