CADRA DONATIONS

We wish to acknowledge another donation of €50 received from a local resident towards our work. We also wish to thank the local tradesman who has volunteered his time to assist us with his skills to allow us complete the area at Community Centre and other projects. This support is very much appreciated. Work will commence soon to finish of the area in front of Community Centre thanks to the generous support of our community.

POSTER FREE ZONE?

Cadra has written to all presidential Candidates nominated to date requesting our area be declared a poster free zone. Mr Seán Gallagher has confirmed in writing that his campaign will not use posters in our area. We will keep you updated on response from other candidates.

CARRAROE NS

Carraroe National School is looking for someone in the parish area to help train boys and girls to learn the fiddle. Classes are planned during school time. Please contact the school for further information.

YEATS EXPERIENCE

Support North West Simon and enjoy the Yeats Experience at Broc House Holywell Road, Aughamore, Carraroe on Friday, October 26, at 7.30 p.m..Between courses as you take time to digest, Damien Brennan brings you to life and poetry of William Butler Yeats. BODHRAN CLASSES

Classes in playing the Bodhran resume tomorrow Friday at 6 p.m. in Carraroe Community Centre. – for more information contact 086 3013567.

TRADITIONAL MUSIC

Classes re-commence next Thursday, September 27, at Gaelscoil, Chnoc na Ré, Ballydoogan Road – beginners welcome. Registration at 7.45 p.m. Please note beginners start on either wind or string instruments only. Peter Farrell Contact 085 1131911.

FIT – CAMP CLASSES

This class will be held each Monday and Thursday evening in Carraroe Community Centre. Lose Weight and Tone Up in a fun and enjoyable environment. Men and Women of all fitness levels welcome. SENIORS ALARM SCHEME

Cadra would urge all eligible residents to avail of the scheme as it a great comfort and support to people. If you know anyone in any of 12 counties interested in having the system we can arrange. Anyone over 65 is eligible. Anyone that already has the alarm is advised to were the pendent at all times including in bed. LINE DANCING RETURNS

Brand new Beginner Level Line Dancing Class in Carraroe Community Centre at 8 p.m. each Monday night. For more information please contact Gary at 085 7819808.

25 CARD GAME

The regular game of progressive 25 takes place in Carraroe Community Centre each Tuesday night at 9 p.m. Looking forward to seeing all our regular players. New inexperienced players are always welcome. Usual jackpot and prizes on the night. All proceeds go to local projects in the community.

TIDY TOWNS

Cadra say sincere thanks to everyone who assisted with keeping the area looking so well and litter-free. Thanks also to our local residents who assisted with planting our Raised Bed which is a focal point at the centre of our community. The National Awards will be presented in Helix Dublin tomorrow September 24 at 4 p.m. We wish all our neighboring areas every success in the competition. We will then receive our adjudicators report and will circulate to all residents.

DANCING

Dance class followed by live band each Wednesday night in Carraroe Community Centre Sligo. Dance class commences at 8.30 p.m. with live band following. ST JOHN’S GAA CLUB
