DRAMA FUNDRAISER

St Michael’s Church Cloonacool Finance Committee are running a fundraiser to boost renovation funds. The Swinford Players drama group will present their play entitled ‘For Better, For Worse’ in Cloonacool Community Centre on Friday, October 19, next at 8 p.m. It is a three-act comedy written by playwright Jimmy Keary. It is a follow on from last year’s production which had the audience in howls of laughter all night, and sent everyone home with a smile on their face. This production is guaranteed to be equally as entertaini­ng.

CARD GAME

The Cloonacool Card game will be moving to the earlier time of 8.30 p.m. from October 1. It will take place every Monday in Cloonacool Community Centre.

HOUSE CONCERT

There will be a House Concert at Moy River Folk Club in Cloonacool this Tuesday, September 25. Something a little bit different in the company of classical musician Karin Leitner (flute) and Teresa O’Donnell (harp).

Concert has a 8 p.m. start and booking is necessary. This promises to be a lovely experience. For more details contact Pat at 087 2512030.

LADIES GROUP

The Cloonacool Ladies Monday Morning Group meet on Monday mornings from 10.15 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. We looking forward to meeting everyone again and new members are more than welcome.

BLOOD DONATION CLINIC

There will be a Blood Donation Clinic in St Brigid’s Hall, Tubbercurr­y on Thursday, October 4, from 4.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. As always, the demand for blood continues and every possible donation is desperatel­y needed. Injured and sick people live because other people give. Blood is life and giving some is one of the greatest gesture of love and care that most people will ever have chance to avail of.

COMMUNITY PARK DRAW

Tickets are now on sale for the Community Park lotto draw. Tickets can be purchased from any committee member. The next draw takes place in September and the jackpot now stands at €2,200. All proceeds goes towards the ongoing maintenanc­e and developmen­t of facilities at the community park. Remember if you’re not in, you can’t win.

MUSIC CLUB

Cloonacool Music Club takes place on Thursday at Brennan’s Bar from 10 p.m. Come along for a great night of music and singing. There will be a bus available to collect and leave home on Thursday nights for music club. Pick up between 9: 30 and 10 p.m., and then leaving Cloonacool after the food. Please ring 071 9185037 for further informatio­n and to book your seat. There will be a minimal charge for the bus.
