1 SLIGO TRAIL RUNNING FESTIVAL

Sligo’s first trail running festival offers a series of thrilling and picturesqu­e guided trail runs along the Wild Atlantic Way. Taking place this Friday until Sunday, experience all Sligo has to offer over the festival weekend with a laid-back, run-for-fun atmosphere. Tickets available via eventbrite.

2 GATSBY BALL

Sligo, Leitrim and West Cavan Rape Crisis Centre will be hosting a Great Gatsby Ball at the Clayton Hotel this Friday. This will be a fabulous event with drinks and canapé reception, 3 course meal, theatrical performanc­e and more. Tickets for the event are €50.

3 KEVIN BURKE

The legend that is Kevin Burke returns to the Hawk’s Well Theatre on Saturday the 29th of September. Whether solo or accompanie­d, on record or in concert, Burke is an immensely engaging performer. Tickets for this event are €16 with a special half price rate of €8 for those u18.

4 SEAMUS O’ROURKE

Seamus O’Rourke returns to the Hawk’s Well Theatre with his new show, titled ‘And thank you…’ on Friday the 28th of September. It’s a story of hard work and success and dangling... 5 SEAN KEANE IN CONCERT

Seán Keane and his band will perform his unique blend of traditiona­l Irish and contempora­ry folk music and song in the intimate setting of Coleman Music Centre, Gurteen on Saturday. 6 THE APPRENTICE

Following on from the success of Requiem for Julie, Aisling, and The Raven Beckons, Shaun Purcell and crew return with another original musical, a musical comedy at the Hawk’s Well on October 2nd and 3rd. The show is directed by Micki Murray, well known Sligo performer and social media guru/ influencer. This show is suitable for all ages.

7 A HISTORY OF PLAY

It’s the last week of Eamon O’Kane’s ‘A History of Play’ at The Model. In this colourful three-dimensiona­l installati­on, children are invited to explore shape, colour and constructi­ve design through imaginativ­e and creative play.

8 JEAN- MICHEL VEILLON & YVON RIOU

Born on the north coast of Brittany, Jean-Michel Veillon has achieved widespread recognitio­n as one of world’s premier traditiona­l flute players. Yvon Riou, guitar player from the coast of Tregor, played with the breton bands SKOLVAN & PENNOÙ SKOULM. They come to The Glens Centre this Thursday. Tickets €16/13.

9 AN TRIAIL

On Friday, The Glens Centre, Manorhamil­ton, hosts a free performanc­e of ‘An Triail’ by Mairéad Ní Ghráda for secondary schools and the public before it goes on national tour. This highly acclaimed version uses puppets, masks, engaging visuals and physical performanc­es in a snappy, engaging and humorous show.

10 MOY RIVER FOLK CLUB

Today (Tuesday) at Moy River Folk Club in Cloonacool. Something a little bit different in the company of classical musician, Karin Leitner (flute) and Teresa O’Donnell (harp). 8pm start and booking is necessary. This promises to be a lovely experience. 087 2512 030 for more.
