Judge wants firm’s boss to be in court

-

DISTRICT Court Judge Kevin Kilrane has ordered a witness summons be issued for a company boss whose fleet of vehicles he has no interest in, a Garda Sergeant has said.

Sergeant Gerry Murphy told the District Court last Thursday that the boss of Total Logistics Solutions was “particularly careless” in respect of the vehicles he had on the road.

A driver for the company, Brendan Collins of Corragooley, Carracastle, Ballaghaderreen was before the court for driving without a certificate of roadworthiness on January 22nd last at Drumderg, Castlebaldwin. The sergeant told the Judge that in fairness to the driver he had to “drive what was put before him in the morning.”

“He’s working for a man who has no interest in the fleet of vehicles,” said the Sergeant. He told the Judge that the boss was Jason Taylor but that the company name may have “changed again recently.”

Judge Kilrane ordered a witness summons be issued for Mr Taylor who lives in Cliffoney and adjourned the case to October 18th. “I cannot have this nonsense going on,” added the Judge.
