Two brothers returned for trial

TWO brothers have been returned for trail to Sligo Circuit Court arising out of an incident at Stephen Street car park in 2016.

Barry Downey (33) of 57 Joe McDonnell Drive and Frankie Downey (32) of 47 Joe McDonnell Drive appeared before Sligo District Court last Thursday.

They are both charged with producing a large bladed knife during the course of a dispute at Stephen Street car park on November 26 th 2016.

The defendants were represented by Mr Gerard McGovern, solicitor.

Books of evidence in both cases were served on the accused and they were both sent forward for trial to the next sittings of the Circuit Court commencing on November 6 th.
