SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to the family of Eugene Fallon, Collooney, who recently passed away. He will be missed by his wife Maura, son Stuart and extended family and friends. May he rest in peace.
VILLAGE REDEVELOPMENT
Collooney Village Redevelopment Ltd are please to announce that they are now the official key holders of the old Court House building in Collooney.
Massive credit goes to this hard working committee and also to councillor Thomas Healy for securing this amenity for the good of the town. It is hoped to develop the building into a community centre which would also incorporate a designated tourist information centre and internet hub. The official handing over of the keys is hoped to take place at the site in the near future.
The new ‘Mayor’ campaign will be starting in earnest soon to once again raise much needed funds to develop the courthouse into a community centre. Nominations for Mayoral candidates can be dropped into Collooney Pharmacy by October 11. Any individual may nominate themselves and invitations are especially welcome from local groups to nominate one of their own.
The person who raises the most for the development project will be deemed mayor of Collooney and their first official function will be the turning on of the Christmas lights in early December. Please be sure to have the consent of the person you are nominating and may the best man or WOMAN win.
