SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to the son Alan, daughter-in-law, parents Pádraig and Peggy, brother P J, sisters Maureen and Barbara, grandchild­ren Patrick, Nicholas and Hayley on the sudden death of Thomas (Tommy) Cawley, Woodlawns, Enniscrone. Sympathy is also extended to his aunts, uncles, nephews, niece, cousin, relatives and friends. Removal of remains was from McGowan’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 19, to the Church of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven, Enniscrone. Burial took place in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Kilglass after 11 a.m. Mass in Enniscrone Church on Thursday, September 20. May he rest in peace.

SYMPATHY is also extended to Damian McCaffrey, Church Road, Enniscrone on the death of his aunt Betty Meehan, Donegal Town on Saturday, September 22. Funeral Mass and Burial took place in Donegal on Monday, September 24. May she rest in peace.

Walk for October 6 is Cairns Kilbride level is easy; terrain is track and trail, time 3-4hours.

SOCIAL BRIDGE CLUB

Enniscrone Social Bridge Club has resumed at the Diamond Coast Hotel each Wednesday commencing at 7.30 p.m.

BLOTTO DRAW

There was no winner of the €5,200 jackpot. Numbers drawn were 28, 29 and 36. €25 winners were Chloe Wheatley, Breda Sheridan, Mick Hynes and Kevin Fallon. Jackpot for the next draw on Sunday, September 30, will take place in the Wild Atlantic Inn, Kinard and will be €5,400.

SENIOR CITIZENS PARTY

This year’s Christmas party for the senior citizens in the Kilglass/ Culleens community is being held on Sunday, December 9, in the Ocean Sands Hotel. PADRE PIO NOVENA

A Padre Pio Novena will be held in Easkey parish from October 1 to October 9 with different guest speakers each night. The Novena will be held in Easkey Church except Wednesday and Saturday when it will be held in Rathlee Church at 7.30 p.m. except Saturday evening at 7 p.m. Schedule as follows.

DEALING WITH CHALLENGIN­G SITUATIONS

This workshop for Voluntary and Local Community Groups is taking place in partnershi­p with West Sligo Family Resource Centre Ltd Enniscrone on Tuesday, October 23, from 10 a.m. to 1.15 p.m. in the Ocean Sands Hotel.

Working with volunteers can present certain challenges. It is human nature to want to put if off in the hope that it will sort itself out. Addressing difficulti­es as early as possible will help to avoid an escalation that will demand more of your valuable time.

This workshop will give you the skills and confidence to face these situations. Enniscrone the cost of this workshop is €10 for Small organisati­ons/Local Community groups and €15 for Nationally Affiliated groups/Larger Groups.

MACRA SOCIAL DANCE

Westside Macra are having a fundraisin­g social dance on Friday, October 5, at 10 p.m. (doors 9.30 p.m.) in the Great National Hotel, Ballina. Music by Jason Travers and Jenna Sloane. CHORAL NIGHT

This will be taking place on Friday, October 5, at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church, Dromore West. This is a special concert featuring Coolaney Gospel Choir, Sligo Cancer Support Choir, Every Voice Choir Ballina, Sligo Gospel Choir with special guest Jonathan Carter. HISTORIC TOUR OF EASKEY

A historic walking tour of Easkey woill take place on Saturday, October 6, in aid of Jonathan Higgins, Telephone Carmel at 087 9497321. Tour will start in Easkey village, at 3 p.m. from outside Bia Blasta, it should take two hours approximat­ely. There will be refreshmen­ts and music in Bia Blasta after our walk.

Sights of interest include: Fortland Estate, Easkey Abbey, and St Ann’s Church of Ireland, The Old Rectory and garden. Speakers include: Carmel Gordon, David Higgins, Joseph Dunphy and Lorely Forester.
