Hustler Round Bale Feeders at Johnston Farm Equipment

-

The Hustler SL300X Round bale feeder by Johnston Farm Equipment is the fastest, simplest and easiest way to feed you’re livestock this winter. The Hustler SL300X is designed and built in New Zealand with over 20 years of experience to withstand the toughest of bales. It reduces feed waste considerably by only leaving the amount the livestock need in front of them. It can cut feeding time by more than half the time with minimal effort. The headstock is simply disconnected from the feeding cradle without leaving the tractor seat. The headstock with its stone fork tines allows you to pick up the bale and place it on the cradle. The headstock is then reconnected to the cradle to distribute the bale. Simply operate the spool valve in the tractor to rotate the bale and feed the material either to the right or left hand side. The Hustler is a low maintenance machine with 4 greasable self aligning bearings with trash shields. It has the heaviest and toughest 12,000lb chain available on the market and is complete with a two year warranty for piece of mind. New Zealand based Company Hustler manufacture the Hustler bale feeder and it is available through its Irish agent, Johnston Farm Equipment, in Longford. New for this year’s season is the Hustler SL300X Bale feeder. It is based on its tried and tested predecessor the SL350 with some added features giving the operator increased comfort and productivity. The machine is made up of two parts, the headstock and the cradle. The key point being that the bale can be loaded without having to detach the machine from the three point linkage. When it comes to loading bale the operator simply pulls a cord to realise the headstock and spikes from the cradle part, loads a bale onto the cradle, returns the spikes into their slots under the cradle. The dog clutch automatically reconnects with the headstock allowing feeding to recommence again. Lining up the spikes is made even easier by one tine being shorter than the other. To unravel the balle simply pull a hydraulic lever in the cab. This sends oil to a high output hydraulic motor which turns the chain upon which the bale sits on. The spikes on the crossbars grab the layer of silage rolled up by the round baler and feed it either left or right depending on the direction of oil flow. The machine can handle the heaviest and wettest of bales in its ease thanks to being the only machine with a 12,000lb roller chain. The Hustler SL300X is so easy to use and can be operated by the smallest of tractors. Four bearings require infrequent greasing which is the total amount of maintenance required.
