Yeats trail set for Sligo early next year

Lidl Sligo made a generous donation to Sligo Tidy Towns towards the completion of the Yeats Mural near its new store at Finisklin Road.

The Yeats Mural is at the start of a Yeats’ Trail currently being assembled by Tidy Towns.

It includes the Maud Gonne mural, artistic pieces along Wine Street, The Yeats centre and statue, as well as the Niland collection at the Model.

It will also include a refurbished cabin and garden, as envisaged by the poet in his best known poem, “The Lake Isle Of Innisfree”. Many of the pieces on the trail have been kindly funded by Sligo Credit Union.

The trail will be launched early next year by Sligo Tidy Towns. Pictured right at the presentation of a cheque are staff from the new Lidl Store: Liam Mannion, Rory Farrell, Store Manager, Peter Tiernan, Chairman Sligo Tidy Towns, Deividas Monstvilas, and Susan Dunbar.
