Mullinabreena photo exhibition on community life
FACES young and old from past and present are set to go on display at a special photo exhibition in Mullinabreena this Halloween.
Achonry Mullinabreena Community Enhancement Group have been working round the clock for the past six months to organise the two-day event in St Nathy’s Hall on the October Bank Holiday Weekend, Sunday and Monday 12.30-6.30pm.
Over 2,300 images have been donated by local residents documenting community life in all townlands of the parish: GAA, local schoolchildren, Farming/Creamery, Church, I.C.A. A themed slide show will also be on display in the hall. “We’ ll have two slide shows on the stage that will be running on the day. All the local people come in, we have tea and coffee so they can enjoy the display. This year we’ ll have marquees outside as well,” said Chairman of Achonry Mullinabreena Community Enhancement Group Michael Toolan. “From modern pictures to those over 100 years old, they’ ll all be on display,” he added.
