MAYOR’S ELECTION

Manorhamilton International Wild Rose Festival Committee is running a mayoral election over the coming months in order to raise funds for the upcoming festival, which takes place from Sunday, July 21, to Sunday, July 28, 2019.

Candidates for the town’s first citizen post, i.e. Mayor of Manorhamilton must be over 21 years of age. The International Wild Rose Festival Committee is hoping to make this a fun and exciting mayoral race involving the whole community, as well as raising vital funds for the 2019 Festival.

The candidate for mayor of Manorhamilton that raises most money for the International Wild Rose Festival will declared the winner of the mayoral election at the conclusion of what is sure to be an exciting campaign.

Manorhamilton Mayoral Candidates are reminded that unlike the current presidential campaign that they do not need to be nominated by four County Councils or 20 Oireachtas members; so the nomination process could not be simpler for candidates who wish to run.

The winning candidate, who will be elected mayor of Manorhamil- ton, will also receive a Mayor’s Chain of office and a weekend hotel break or the cash equivalent of a weekend hotel break.
