PLANNING MEETING

Everyone in the entire Cloonacool area is invited to an open evening of discussion on how people would like to see Cloonacool in 10 years’ time, and the practical things that need doing to get there. This meeting will take place on Tuesday evening, October 9, in Cloonacool Community Centre at 8 p.m. Young and older are all welcome to attend, and more than one person from each family is welcome also.

DRAMA FUNDRAISER

St Michael’s Church Cloonacool Finance Committee are running a fundraiser to boost renovation funds. For the fundraiser, the Swinford Players drama group will present their play entitled ‘For Better, For Worse’ in Cloonacool Community Centre on Friday, October 19, at 8 p.m. It is a three-act comedy written by playwright Jimmy Keary.

CARD GAME TIME CHANGE

The Cloonacool Card game will be moving to the earlier time of 8.30 p.m. from October 1. It will take place every Monday in Cloonacool Community Centre.

LADIES GROUP

The Cloonacool Ladies Monday Morning Group meet on Monday mornings from 10.15 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. We looking forward to meeting everyone again and new members are more than welcome.

MUSIC CLUB

Cloonacool Music Club takes place on Thursday at Brennan’s Bar from 10 p.m. Come along for a great night of music and singing. There will be a bus available to collect and leave home on Thursday nights for music club. Pick up between 9: 30 and 10 p.m., and then leaving Cloonacool after the food. Please ring 071 9185037 for further informatio­n and to book your seat. There will be a minimal charge for the bus.

COMHALTAS CONCERT

The annual Comhaltas tour of Ireland group will perform in concert in the Coleman Centre, Gurteen tonight Tuesday, October 9. The group will feature the dancing Ganley sisters Sandra and Laura, who are well known being the resident dancers in the centre for many yearsAll-Ireland senior flute champion Tom Gavin Sligo is also a member of the group. CIVIL DEFENCE

Sligo Civil defence is recruiting new volunteers. Opening night this Thursday, October 11, at 8 p.m. in the Coleman Centre, Gurteen. BINGO

Bingo every Friday at 8.30 p.m. in Gurteen Hall. The jackpot is now €4,100 in 50 calls – lotto raffle is starting back at €200 – won last Friday night. All proceeds are shared by the Hall Committee for the upkeep of the hall and for Eastern Harps GAA team.
