WALKING CLUB

Walk for October 13 is MI Gathering-Galway Selection of walks available. Keep an eye on Mountainee­ring Ireland website for booking details.mountainee­ring.ie, level is moderate; terrain is track and trail, time 3-4hours.

SOCIAL BRIDGE CLUB

Enniscrone Social Bridge Club takes place at the Diamond Coast Hotel every Wednesday night commencing at 7.30 p.m. The winners for week of September 26 were. First Teresa and Kevin McLoughlin, second Ann and John Fleming.

BLOTTO DRAW

There was no winner of the €5,400 jackpot. Numbers drawn were 15, 33 and 35. €25 winners were Caroline Carden, Michael Coggins Snr, Maurice Sweeney, and Noel Murray. Jackpot for the next draw on Sunday, September 30, is €5,600 and will take place in Sheridan’s Pub, Kilglass.

ENNISCRONE/ KILGLASS GAA

The intermedia­te team played out a 1-10 to 0-13 draw with Shamrock Gaels in the semi-final of the Intermedia­te Championsh­ip at Bunninadde­n last Sunday afternoon. In another dramatic contest, Mark Gordon’s first half goal helped us level matters by the interval, 1-4 to 0-7, after Shamrock Gaels establishe­d an early lead. We hit the front in the second half, but the sides finished level after a tense finish. Your support is greatly appreciate­d thanks to our large following for the support last Sunday.

The Enniscrone-Kilglass/Easkey minor team will play Curry in the A championsh­ip shield final in the coming weeks; we await confirmati­on of the fixture details.

County final: The Sligo Senior Football Championsh­ip final will take place in Quigabar on Sunday, October 14.

Club lapel pins: There are a limited number of lapel pins showcasing the club crest and importantl­y the correct spelling of Enniscrone as Gaeilge agus as Béarla available at present. They are a great way to show your support for the upcoming plebiscite on the town name. They are available from any committee member for €10.

TIDY TOWNS

Congratula­tions and well done to Enniscrone Tidy Towns on increasing their marks again this year, and to the hard working members who keep Enniscrone looking its best.

SENIOR CITIZENS PARTY

This year’s Christmas party for the senior citizens in the Kilglass/ Culleens community is being held on Sunday, December 9, in the Ocean Sands Hotel.

DEALING WITH CHALLENGIN­G SITUATIONS

This workshop for Voluntary and Local Community Groups is taking place in partnershi­p with West Sligo Family Resource Centre Ltd Enniscrone on Tuesday, October 23, from 10 a.m. to 1.15 p.m. in the Ocean Sands Hotel.

Working with volunteers can present certain challenges. It is human nature to want to put if off in the hope that it will sort itself out. Addressing difficulti­es as early as possible will help to avoid an escalation that will demand more of your valuable time.

This workshop will give you the skills and confidence to face these situations. Enniscrone the cost of this workshop is €10 for Small organisati­ons/Local Community groups and €15 for Nationally Affiliated groups/Larger Groups.
