Choral Fest celebrates 30th year
OVER 70 groups have registered to be a part of this year’s International Choral Festival, a milestone year for the event.
The 30 th Sligo International Choral Festival takes place from November 16 th – 18th.
Chairperson Mr Sean Larkin said: “We are really excited about this years programme. The committee have tried to build on the fantastic work, vision and commitment of the previous 30 years and deliver an exciting and innovative programme which will draw people to Sligo”
He continues; “This is a special year and we felt it right that we should pay tribute to those who founded and developed the festival many of whom sadly are no longer with us.
He added “We felt that the best way was to deliver an exciting and aspirational programme”
Sean says “The festival has generated well in excess of €15 million in revenues for the Sligo economy over the last 30 years at a quiet time of the year”
We encourage people to come and enjoy the events over the 3 days. U18’s are free in to the Gala Concert and there are numerous street events to enjoy for free also.
