Moved house and forgot to renew car insurance

A 34-year-old man before Sligo District Court charged with no insurance had moved house and didn’t get notice that a renewal was due.

James Maree, of Springvale, Tubbercurry, was stopped at Cloonloo, Gurteen, on April 30 th 2018.

Mr John Anderson, solicitor (defending) said his client did not get notice that a renewal was due and has since regularised his affairs and needs his licence.

Judge Kevin Kilrane fined Mr Maree, who pleaded guilty and had no previous convictions, €300 and did not disqualify him.
