When Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in a convent. Disguised as a nun she uses her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir and breathes new life into the church and community. 3 LUNCHTIME PIANO CONCERT WITH SIMON BAUKE Simon Bauke is an 18 year-old artist, pianist and composer from the Netherland­s. He spent last two years of his life at Democratic School De Ruimte in Soest (NL). He finished his time there by releasing an album with his own piano compositio­ns, created at and with the school. He will perform a lunchtime concert at the Hawkswell Theatre as part of his visit to Sligo Sudbury School. Enjoy a lovely afternoon of piano music on Friday 9th November, 2018 at 1:10pm.

4 S CLUB PARTY WITH JO & BRADLEY Enjoy an S club party with JO and BRADLEY from S club 7 at Sintilllat­e on Wednesday (tomorrow) They will be performing all the hits live at this special event. 5 CARLO GEBLER A one day course for writers of prose, long and short, fiction and non-fiction, who are looking to start, advance or complete a piece of written work takes place at the Hawk’s Well this Sunday. This workshop is hosted by author, playwright film-maker and memoirist Dr. Carlo Gébler who is passionate about the craft of writing.

6 SOCIAL DANCING Social dancing takes place every Tuesday night at the Sligo Southern Hotel. Today (Tuesday) social dancing takes place with Robert Brown (ex Big Tom & the Mainliners). Admission is €10 on the door.

7 DRACULA UNDEAD TOUR A special one-off tour to mark the Sligo Bram Stoker Society Dracula weekend on the anniversar­y of Bram Stoker’s birthday takes place this Friday. Time: 7 pm to 8.30 pm - Tour duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

8 ARMISTICE DAY POETRY EVENT

A poetry event will take place at the Yeats Society on Saturday for the Centenary of WWI Armistice Day with Professor Fran Brearton (QUB) and guest readers. Ticket: €5 (includes a glass of wine)

9 HOW SLIGO SHAPED DRACULA

A day long conference that aims to show how Sligo town influenced the novel ‘Dracula’ takes place at the Clayton Hotel this Saturday. Speakers will include experts in Bram Stoker and Gothic fiction as well as esteemed local historians. The event takes place in the atmospheri­c ‘Canus Major’, the de-consecrate­d Catholic church.

10 THURSDAY NIGHT ACOUSTIC TUNES

Each Thursday night, Thomas Connollys’ resident musicians Eoin Troy & Seamie Mc Gowan come together for a night of great acoustic music. Tunes from 21:30 onwards with regular special guest musicians joining.
