Strandhill Centra extension plan

THE owner of Keane’s Centra in Strandhill is seeking a five year extension to his planning permission to extend the shop.

Michael Keane hasn’t yet fully developed the plans which were granted permission in 2014.

They included the construction of three new retail units in two extensions either side of the existing Centra unit. One extension on the western side will be 188msq single storey extension while the extension to the east will be 165msq.

The existing car wash will be relocated to the rear of the development and an extra 20 new parking spaces will be built.

A number of residents of Dorrins Strand submitted letters of concern about noise levels, litter levels and privacy issues. They said the pro- posed location of the car wash was of some concern due to noise levels and privacy issues but if a wall was built instead of the proposed timber fence it might address such concerns.

Members of the public have until 6 th December to make submission to Sligo County Council about the development.

County planners are due to decide by 5 th January 2019.
