The Sligo Champion

Ready to fight in Europe

-

ON November 17th, seven Sligo Martial Arts Academy students will travel to Portugal to compete in the European Wado Kai Karate Championships.

This is a fantastic achievement for the academy to have seven students selected to represent Ireland on such a big stage.

They having been traveling to Dundalk every other weekend the last few months for the Irish squad training sessions and now all the preparation work is done.

All of these students started in our junior class at a young age 7/8yrs and have progressed through constant training and commitment.

The club said: “Congratulations to both yourselves and your families who are the unseen heroes behind the scenes.

“A huge congrats to all our academies instructors and classmates also because even though you compete as an individual, it is only with teammates that you improve each class.

“We wish Sonny, Fraser, Anna, Brooke, Ellen, Ciara and Adam best of luck and most of all enjoy the experience.”
