CLUNE Celtic recorded an impressive 2-0 victory over Calry in the Sligo Rovers astro league to move to third in the table and sit just one point off top spot.

New faces to the league, Clune Celtic have enjoyed a very positive start to life in the competition, recording three wins and four draws from their opening seven games.

Seamus Kane and Conor McDermott were the goal scorers on the night to inflict just a second defeat for Calry this season.

As a result, Calry slipped to fourth but will be thrilled with their start to the season and will hope to maintain their push for a top half finish before the Christmas break.

Custom Clothing recorded an empathic 6-1 victory over the Sally Gardens, which could prove to be a valuable three points before the Christmas break.

Both sides have aspirations of a top half finish and entry into the Premier Division, with this an excellent result for Graham Cawley’s brigade.

Both Custom Clothing and the Sally Gardens now sit on seven points each respectively and will hope to gather some momentum in the next few weeks and become more consistent.

GSS continue to build on their slow start to the league after overcoming the charge of Abbvie 2-0.

The result moves GSS up to sixth in the league just five points off Shannon Celtic on top spot.

In the only other game of the week, Strand Celtic enjoyed a 2-0 victory over Ballymote Celtic with goals coming from Stephen Fallon and Adrian McPartland.
