CHRISTMAS EXPERIENCE

We are hosting a Festive Family Day of fun on December 15 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. It promises to be an enjoyable day for children and adults alike.

The festivitie­s will include: Indoor and Outdoor Markets; Christmas Craft Workshop for children; Live Christmas Pet Farm; Santa’s Grotto and Express Delivery Post Box to the North Pole; Drama and Singing Workshops for children, hot food and drinks and lots more. This is a day not to be missed and is a chance to pick up those last minute bargains.

The cost is €10 for children aged 2+. Free admission for adults and children under two. We have a number of spaces available for stall holders. SOCIAL DAY CENTRE

Our social day centre provides older adults with improved quality of life through opportunit­ies for socialisin­g and lifelong learning. It also provides them with a place to engage with their peers and promotes inclusion and integratio­n of older people in the life of the community. The centre also aims to improve the mental health and well-being of older adults and to combat feelings of loneliness and isolation.

The social day centre runs four days per week, Tuesday to Friday from 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Contact the centre for further details. The programme is funded by the HSE and by the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection.

PARENT/TODDLER GROUP

Little Buddies, OUR Parent and toddler group meets on Monday and Friday mornings from 10.30 a.m. to midday. Parents, grandparen­ts and carers are all welcome. There is always a warm welcome with tea, coffee and refreshmen­ts provided. €3 per family.

PRESCHOOL/AFTERSCHOO­L

Our Bright Minds Preschool operates from 9.15 a.m. to 12.15 p.m. and the Afterschoo­l from 1.30 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday, September-June. Bright Minds are providers of the ECCE and Community Childcare Subvention Schemes, offering free Preschool spaces and subsidised Afterschoo­l spaces for eligible families. BINGO

Bingo continues every Friday night from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Double books cost €15, single books €10, half books €5 and single sheets €1. There is also a raffle on the night.

BOWLING

The Avalon Centre Bowling Club meets every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the cen- tre. All are welcome-just call in on the day.

DANCE CLASSES

Our Hip Hop dance classes run on Mondays from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. for seven- to 12-yearolds. For more informatio­n, please contact the centre at 071 9161836.

YOUTH CLUBS

Our Junior club meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The senior youth club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

PHYSIO-LED PILATES

SELF-DEFENCE CLASSES

Krav Maga Self-defence classes are running on Wednesdays, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Contact 087 0659709 for more details. assisted with the project especially Séamus, who made the major contributi­on. Carraroe Parish Choir: Parish Choir rehearsal on Mondays at 8 p.m. in the church. If you can sing and would like to be part of a community choir, please come along. More male singers are required.

CHRISTMAS TREE

Plans for the lighting ceremony of our community Christmas Tree are being developed for Saturday evening, December 8, at Community Centre. Keep the date free and more details next week.

PARKING AT CHURCH

Please use the designated car parks at our church which includes around the community centre. Plenty of parking is available in safe locations. Please avoid parking on the main roads. It obstructs passing traffic.

FIT – CAMP CLASSES

This class will be held each Monday and Thursday evening in Carraroe Community Centre. Lose Weight and Tone Up in a fun and enjoyable environmen­t. Men and Women of all fitness levels welcome. SEAN NÓS DANCING CLASSES

Classes by all-Ireland Champion Dancer Ryan Sheridan continue on Friday evenings in Carraroe Community Centre. Beginner Classes from 6 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Intermedia­te Classes from 7 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Registrati­on on the night 30 minutes before start of each class. 25 CARD GAME

Cadra in partnershi­p with St John’s GAA Club organise the regular game of progressiv­e 25 which takes place in Carraroe Community Centre each Tuesday night at 9 p.m. Winners on 11 games were Tony McGuerin/Tony Maguire, Runners-up on nine games were John Callaghan/Brian Foley, Tony O’Loughlin/Seán Harte, Séamus Devaney/Séamus Scanlon. Looking forward to seeing all our regular players. New inexperien­ced players are always welcome. Usual jackpot and prizes on the night. All proceeds go to local projects in the community.

Cadra advises people walking or working around our community to wear HiViz to ensure you can be seen. We will have a supply of free HiViz available from any member of committee.

LAKEVIEW GUILD ICA.

The guild meet on the first Tuesday of the month in Carraroe Community Centre at 8 p.m. New members always welcome-for further informatio­n contact Mary at 086 3755894.
