ALL STAR AWARD

Congratula­tions to James Weir from the Easkey/St Farnan’s hurling club who picked up an All Star award for Lory Meagher 2018 and also the award for Player of the Year at the Convention Centre in Dublin last week. This is a great tribute to James’ efforts on the hurling field this year, is well deserved and the club is justifiabl­y proud of this tremendous honour and achievemen­t. James was also one of the clubs ‘Strictly’ dancers on Saturday night last when his achievemen­t was recognised.

‘DON’T TELL THE WIFE’

Windmill Players are back with a Bang this autumn in Dromore West Community Centre performing Sam Cree’s, ‘Don’t Tell the Wife’. CAKE SALE

Eoghan Rua LGFA will hold a cake sale on Sunday, November 18, from 11.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. in McNulty’s Pub in Enniscrone. This is a fundraiser for the club and Sligo LGFA Please support by buying or supplying cakes for the sale.

BOSTON TEA PARTY

A Boston Tea Party in aid of Rathlee National School will be held in the Ocean Sands Hotel on Friday, November 16. An auction will be held on the night and anyone who would like to donate unwanted gifts can leave them into the school.

BILLY LENEHAN R.I.P.

The death has taken place of Billy Lenehan, Rathlee. His funeral took place from McGowan’s Funeral Home to Rathlee Church. Burial took place in St Patrick’s Cemetry, Kilglass following Requiem Mass. Sympathy is extended to his wife Nancy, daughters Susan and Tracey, brother Michael, son-in-law Terence, grandchild­ren Yasmine and Neville, nephew’s nieces, relatives and friends.

SCOR NA NÓG

County finals will be in Dromore West community centre on Sunday, November 25, at 4 p.m. Easkey GAA are looking for competitor­s to represent the club in any of the following – Ceili dancing, Solo singing, Ballad Group, Recitation/Scealiocht, Leiriu, Staitse/Play, Instrument­al Music, set dancing.

The table quiz is on Sunday, December 9, in Ballintogh­er hall at 4 p.m. Teams of four. It will be a great evening’s display of all talent within the club so please put the date in your diary and come out to support the competitor­s. Names to Mary McHugh please or any committee member. The death has taken place of Owen Carden, Leeds, Gleneaskey and Caltra, Culleens. His funeral took place from Sweeney’s Funeral Home, Dromore West to the church Of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour and burial took place in Churchill Cemetry, following Requiem Mass. Sympathy is extended to his sister Mai Curley and brother Michael, nephews, niece relatives and friends.

DIAMOND LADIES DAY OUT

There was no winner of the jackpot in the Easkey lotto draw on November 2.
