Defendant took time at Community Service

-

A man has been given a two month suspended sentence for being abusive and threatening on Ash Lane on 10 th February 2017.

Gavin Kilgallon (28) of St Edward’s Terrace, appeared before Judge Kilrane on foot of a recent Probation Report.

“The Probation officer doesn’t invest you with a lot of trust, have you read it?” said Judge Kilrane to Kilgallon.

“No. She said to me it was a good report. I done [sic] everything she asked me to do,” replied Kilgallon, who has 57 previous convictions.

Judge Kilrane then read out the last paragraph in which the Probation Officer said Kilgallon had taken so long to complete a previous Community Service order of 240 hours, it was better that the judge give him a suspended sentence instead of Community Service for the Ash Lane offences.

“I’ ll go along with what she says,” said the judge and handed down a two month suspended sentence on condition Kilgallon receives no conviction under the Public Order Act or for theft or criminal damage within the next two years.
