SURPRISE WEDDING

A huge congratula­tions to lovely local couple Aleise Gibbons and Simon Cavanagh on their marriage last Saturday, November 10. Family and friends were invited to celebrate the baptism of their youngest daughter Holly and were treated to the big surprise that a wedding was also taking place. A big achievemen­t keeping such a secret under wraps while preparatio­ns were going on. Best wishes for the future.

OWENMORE GAELS NEWS

Owenmore Gaels, along with Northwest Regional Drug and Alcohol Task Force are hosting a Drug Awareness evening on Thursday, November 22, and are delighted to announce that six time all-Ireland winner Philly McMahon will be the special guest. Philly will talk about how drugs effected his and his families lives after the death of his brother and how Drug Awareness can be used as a preventati­ve and coping mechanism. Tickets are free of charge, limited to four per person. Recommende­d for aged 12 upwards. Under-16s must be accompanie­d by an adult. Doors open at 7 p.m. with event starting at 7.30 p.m.

The AGM of Owenmore Gaels GFC will take place on Sunday, November 25, at 5 p.m. in the clubhouse at Connolly Park. Current members and anybody wishing to become a member is welcome to attend.
