TOURLESTRANE

WHAT a wonderful afternoon in Bagenalstown Co Carlow where a crowd of 150 plus supporters from the parish had made the long but very worthwhile journey to bear witness to the mighty Tourlestrane Ladies power into the All Ireland Junior Final in three weeks time. GOALS proved the difference today and our girls rattled the net in both halves from Laura Surlis in the first and substitute Leonie Gaughan returning to the squad after

surgery earlier in the year to book their well deserved

spot on December 9th!

OLD Leighlin the Leinster Champions tried hard to find a goal when the score got to within 2 points but that was as close as they got with counter-attacks on more than one occasion as Sligo ladies dug deep and gave everything they had to ensure Old Leighlin were not going to rob them of their final day !

TO tumultuous applause and cheering by the magnificent supporters the girls Enda Leo and David booked their All Ireland place making history in the club ! Pat Normanly club man was heard to say ‘Tourlestrane and All Ireland final in one sentence , you couldn’t get much better than that’ ! Fr John Glynn’s prayers were most definitely answered as he blessed the girls before their journey . Details of the Final will be following early this week but we play Glanmire of Cork . Thank you to OceanFm Radio for covering the game and to all our sponsors also who made the journey possible . WITH sadness we learned of the passing of Seamus Cahill Tubbercurry earlier in the week . Beloved husband of Maye Cahill and brother in law of former chairman Johnny Durkin.
