Welcome for ANC deal

IFA’S Sligo chairman, JP Cowley has welcomed the announcement that Sligo will retain its allocation of Areas of Natural Constraints (ANCs), following the recently completed review of the scheme by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. HE said, “The ANC Scheme (previously the Disadvantaged Areas Scheme and the Less Favoured Areas Scheme) has been a vital support for farmers in Ireland since the 1970s. IFA, on behalf our members in Sligo, fought hard to ensure that there would be no reduction in these vital payments for Sligo farmers.”
