One Act Drama Festival delights theatre enthusiast­s with 75th year celebratio­ns

THE One Act Drama Festival was a wonderful feast of comedy and interestin­g new and exciting dramas. The event adjudicato­r Geoff O’Keeffe was a wonderful hit with competing groups from all over Ireland and the audience.

The committee were delighted to have Hubert Mc Morrrow, seer of amateur drama, formally close the festival.

The esteemed Chairman Brendan Mc Gowan remarked that as the event’s 75 year celebratio­n came to a close, in the words of Brian Friel‘ “It’s all over… and it ’s all about to begin”

The WDF team did an outstandin­g job one again running a successful festival. They are delighted to have some new members on board and welcome new people who would like to join the team. They are most grateful to have had the Tubbercurr­y and District Credit Union as sponsor for the 1 Act Festival. WINNERS were as follows: OPEN
