Man elects for case to be heard in Circuit

A 29-year-old man charged with having items in his possession with the intention of using for theft elected to have his case heard in the Circuit Court.

Fergal McDermott, with an address at Hillside View, Killargue, Co Leitrim was before Sligo District Court on Thursday. He is charged with having an angle grinder, wheel brace, torch and channel locks with the intention to be used in the course of theft or burglary at the Old Mill Apartments, Ballisodar­e.

The alleged offence occurred on July 22nd 2018.

The defendant who appeared in court, was represente­d by Mr John Anderson (solicitor).

Judge Kevin Kilrane remanded him on bail until January 24 th for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutio­ns.
