Entertaining display from St John’s and Merville in U13 league

MERVILLE and St John’s played out a two all draw in a very entertaining and enjoyable under 13 league game,

Merville opened the scoring in the first couple of minutes when a great ball by Gary Farren put Sean Stenson through on goal and the striker found the net with a great finish into the bottom corner, the early goal woke up St John’s and they equalised soon after with Kayden Gethins firing home from a corner,

St John’s were now in control and took a deserved lead with a fine finish to go into half time 2-1 up,

Merville moved Eli Rooney into midfield and dominated the second half.

They were creating chances aplenty but the St John’s keeper was having a great game.

Merville found their leveller when Gary Farren powered through the John’s defence to smash home, a draw was a fair result in the end in a great advert for Sligo Leitrim football.
