Castlerea Co-Operative Livestock Mart Market report

Good numbers of stock presented again this week with trade similar to previous weeks. The heifer trade was strong especially for the quality forward stores, while the weanling rings reported a steady trade but plaine type stock remaining harder sold. Good numbers of dry cows on offer this week with a high percentage of store cows on offer. Breeding stock remain a very good trade with a top price of €2320 paid for a Charolais Cow and a Hereford bull calf at foot. The runner trade reported a good clearance with demand strongest for the continental lots.

180 bullocks on offer last Monday with prices improved for the better quality forward stores. Lesser quality stock was unchanged with a good clearance taking place.
