CATHEDRAL CHRISTMAS FAIR 2

The Sligo Cathedral annual Christmas Fair takes place on Saturday 8th December from 11am to 5pm in Gillooly Hall Sligo. Come & join the perfect family Christmas featuring festive carols & music, Santa Claus, Christmas Café, a variety of stalls, crafts & gifts galore.

This Thursday and Friday all are welcome to attend a work in progress reading entitled ‘Roots’ by Miriam Needham at the Hawk’s Well Theatre. This is free of charge and will take place at 8pm on Thursday 6th December and 1pm on Friday 7th of December. Dawn’s not sure what is real anymore so she tries to get as real a she can by walking 115km in the wrong size shoes through rainy, cold, hilly Galicia.

North Leitrim’s Irish Language Festival takes place this Friday and Saturday in Manorhamil­ton. Seán O Súilleabhá­in launches his memoirs ‘Beneath The Thatch’ on Friday at Manor Library. The Glens Centre plays host to a number of events on Saturday, with Heraghty’s hosting the final event.

Coolera Dramatic Society invite you to join them for their spectacula­r 40th annual pantomime, Rumplestil­zkin, which starts this Saturday at the Hawk’s Well Theatre. When a children’s game is misunderst­ood, Grettle, a young goat girl is imprisoned in the Kings’s castle until she turns straw to gold in order to replace the Kings’s missing fortune.

ABBA SENSATIONS

Suffrage, Rebellion, Liberation - The Unfinished Business of Irish Republican Women takes place at 2 pm, The Coach House, Lissadell on Saturday. Come and enjoy the exhibition­s and tours of the house from 10:30am.

A charity event takes place at the Dunes Bar, Strandhill in aid of the Cancer Support Centre this Thursday. Goody bags will be available on the night and there will be Christmas treats by Shells Seaside cafe. Hot mulled wine and fabulous raffle prizes.

ABBA Sensations come to Anderson’s Bar and Grill on Friday, December 7th. The event kicks off at 11am and continues until late. Get ready to hear all the ABBA classics and enjoy a great night out ahead of the busy Christmas period at Anderson’s.
