Basta is saved with a new Irish buyer

-

BASTA, the Tubbercurry based handle and lock specialist has been purchased by an Irish company, with a commitment to invest up to €1 million in developing the products and services for the Irish and UK market.

Twelve new jobs in sales, marketing and administration will be created in the coming weeks.

Desand Ltd, the Irish based company that completed the purchase of the brand, good will and stock said that the company will continue to trade as Basta, as this continues to be one of the strongest brands in the sector for over 60 years and it synonymous with a high-quality product offering.

Mr David Farrell, who takes over as Managing Director of Basta, said that his priority was to invest in providing certainty for the current and potential client base in terms of product range, stock and quality of service.

“We believe that this company can become the leading supplier of locks and accessories to the construction and hardware sectors again. We have sufficient stock to meet the current demand over the coming weeks.

“We will be meeting customers to establish how we can provide improved service and better value. This will enable us to refine our €1 million strategic investment plan for 2019,” he said.
