AT Sligo District Court on Thursday, Conor Burnside (23) with an address at Straduff, Geevagh was fined €250 for not having insurance at Pearse Road, Sligo on March 26 th 2018. Mr Mark Mullaney, solicitor (defending) said his client’s car was in the garage on the day and he brought his infant son to hospital with a car that was usually parked up. He said he was a young man with a young family living in rural Sligo and asked the judge not to disqualify him. He was fined €250 for not having insurance and not having tax was taken into considerat­ion and he was not disqualifi­ed.

Also at Sligo District Court on Thursday, Kyle Conway (21) with an address at McGlynns Terrace, Pearse Road, Sligo was charged with no insurance, not having tax and driving without a driver’s licence on July 21st 2019 at Lower Abbey St. Mr Edmund Henry solicitor (defending) said his client was on his way to the Hospice as his uncle was given a very short time to live. He said his employer said if he got a licence he would have more work doing deliveries. The judge put the matter back for a week to have a letter from his employer in court.
