Told to stay off alcohol

A 37-year-old man before the court for public order at Holborn St on November 20 th 2018 told Judge Kevin Kilrane he had a relapse and was off alcohol now three weeks.

Peter Kelly, with an address at Avondale, Ballytivnan, was told by the judge that he shouldn’t be drinking at all. The judge said that it was a difficult time especially coming up to Christmas and adjourned the case until December 20 th. Defending solicitor Mr Gerard McGovern said any reason his client was in court was all alcohol related. He said he had a relapse after 3 months and the relapses always bring him back to court. He added that his parents have been in court a few times. Sergeant Derek Butler told the judge there were no incidents since the date in question.
