FLOWER ARRANGING

Gleann ICA Christmas Flower Arranging Demonstration will take place in Gleann Community Centre on Tuesday, December 11, at 8 p.m. Demonstrator Angela East. All arrangements will be raffled on the night. Admission €5 which includes supper. Please come along and bring a friend.

COMMUNITY CHILDCARE AGM

The annual general meeting of Ballyrush Community Childcare Limited will take place on Wednesday, December 12, in Toadstool Cottage, Ballyrush at 8 p.m. All is welcome.

CHRISTMAS MAGIC

Santatown 2018 will take place on Saturday, December 15, and Sunday, December 16, with shows at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Directors, management, staff and local volunteers, have transformed Sligo Folk Park into the winter wonderland that is Santatown. The whole experience is magical from beginning to end with a spectacular array of festive lights. Children can write their letter to Santa and post in our Special Post Box. The Christmas Theatre Show will feature elves, festive entertainment and some very special guests and a chance to meet Santa in his grotto for a quality gift. The Folk Park Restaurant will be open and there is ample free parking.

Santatown is a great example of a community working together and its success owes so much to the enormous contribution from the voluntary efforts of so many local people. In order to capture the magic of this unique event, advance booking is essential. Reserve your places by calling Josephine at 071 9167013, lines open till 10 p.m. daily.

CHRISTMAS SWIM

The annual Lough Arrow Christmas Day swim in aid of North West Hospice takes place at 1 p.m. at Flynn’s pier via Ballindoon. Please support participants as generously as ever, or if you would like to participate contact Mary (086 8733485) for sponsorship card or go through our Facebook page. In conjunction with the Swim there will be a table quiz in Des’s bar on January 5 at 9 p.m. Please support, you won’t have to win to win a prize.
