MEALS ON WHEELS CHRISTMAS PARTY.

The annual Meals on Wheels Christmas party was held in Easkey Community Centre on Sunday, December 2, with 71 attendees and 22 children from Foróige, who together with Santa Claus presented the Meals on Wheels recipients with gifts. Thanks to everyone that helped, sponsored prizes and supported this very enjoyable event. Thanks to all private sponsors who helped to defray the costs.

EOGHAN RUA LADIES

The Eoghan Rua Ladies LGFA AGM took place on November 25 in the Diamond Coast Hotel. The following officers were elected for 2019: chairperso­n: Raymond Carden. Vice-chairperso­n: Shane Feeney (Easkey),secretary: Sheila Murphy. Assistant secretary: Geraldine Duffy, treasurer: Mary Rafter, Assistant treasurer: Mary Boland. PRO.: Claire Duffy and Denise Coggins, Registrar: Ann Gilmartin, Children’s Officer: Lisa Cuffe. The committee would like to sincerely thank all who helped out in any way during the year especially all managers, coaches, sponsors and anyone who helped out with events both on and off the pitch. Also huge thanks and well done to Players of all ages for their time and dedication to the 2018 sporting year.

CCÉ CHRISTMAS CONCERT

Tireragh CCÉ annual Christmas Concert takes place in Dromore West Community Centre on Friday, December 28, at 7.30 p.m. A great night of entertainm­ent is guaranteed with music, song and dance. Refreshmen­ts will be served.

COLÁISTE IASCAIGH

Well done to the students from Coláiste Iascaigh, who took part in our 600km Mizen to Malin challenge. Fifth year students contribute­d to most of the 600km with a staggering 125km in four hours. In total students have collected over €2,000 sponsorshi­p for this event, thanks to all who contribute­d so generously and all who provided bikes and turbo trainers.

CHRISTMAS RAFFLE

Dromore West Community Council CLG are holding a Christmas Raffle. Tickets available in the office at Dromore West Community Centre or from any committee member and at various Dromore West outlets. The draw will be held on December 15. They are €5 each or book of three for €10.

There was no winner of the jackpot in the Easkey lotto draw on November 30. Numbers drawn were 3, 17, 24 and 28. €25 winners; Micháel Weir, Direlle and Dean, Pat Connaughto­n, Leona and Alex Wood, Bernie and David. Promoter’s prize: Tony Jones. Next jackpot €3,900 and the draw will take place at the bingo in the community centre at 8.30 on Friday night. 50/50 winner; Patricia Browne.

FUN BEAT THE INTRO QUIZ

This takes place every Friday night in Sheridan’s bar Kilglass at 9 p.m. Entry fee is only €2 with the proceeds going to Kilglass Community Council Cardens Developmen­t Fund.

The club is holding two quiz nights one in Gilroy’s Bar on Friday, December 14, and Sheridan’s Bar Kilglass on January 18 Both Quiz nights are for two former member’s Eddie O’Dowd and Gerry Gilroy. All proceeds will go to the families chosen charities. Billy Varley will be the Quiz Master on the night. Please come out and support.

BLOTTO DRAW

No winner of the €3,400 jackpot when draw took place in Hopkin’s Bar Saturday night last. Numbers drawn were 4, 11 and 26. €25 winners were Margaret Chapman, Michelle Duffy, Sheila Cawley and Shane Harte. Next draw will take place in Ocean Sand’s Hotel on Saturday, December 8, and the jackpot will be for €3,600.
