YEATS: PORTRAIT OF A FAMILY

The Yeats: Portrait of a Family exhibition finishes up at the Model this Sunday. This exhibition presents an intimate look at the Yeats Family through the portraits of John Butler Yeats and a selection of other artists. The show features a considerab­le body of work newly added to The Niland Collection from the recent Yeats Family sale at Sotheby’s.

CHRISTMAS FLAVOURS

Sligo Global Kitchen will be closing off the year with a new ‘Christmas flavours from El Salvador’ event. An informatio­n Session by Akidwa and IOM on ‘Reaching out, becoming inclusive’ will be held from 12pm to 3 (drop in at any time). Music by The Sligo Gospel Choir, Dj Magictunez and the Syrians, a poem from Jessamine O’Connor and food food food. The event takes place on Saturday at The Model.

CHRISTMAS SPECTACULA­R

County Sligo Golf Club Choir Male Voice Choir and the Sligo Academy of Music present a special evening of Christmas Music in Summerhill College on Wednesday (tomorrow) at 7.30pm. This is a night not to be missed and will cater for all ages, young and old. Listen to your favourite Christmas music sung by choirs and accompanie­d by a 70 piece orchestra.

CINDERELLA: KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE BALL

A Christmas concert in aid of the Sligo Cancer Support Centre will take place at Castle Dargan Hotel this Thursday. Tickets are €15 each and all proceeds raised go to the charity. Doors open at 7:30pm and the concert will start at 8pm sharp.

Cinderella’s Stepmother Evie has been the secretary of the Glencar Manor football committee for the past 13 years. Evie has been fundraisin­g to fix the constant leak in the ladies changing room since she first got the role and if she happens to take month long cruises when she should be calling the plumber, well that is none of your business now is it? A collaborat­ion between The Glens Centre and the Rabbits Riot Theatre, this panto takes place Friday to Sunday at the Glens Centre.

MCLYNN’S CAROL NIGHT

The Sligo Enterprise and Technology Centre in Strandhill, are holding a big fundraiser in aid of the Sligo Stroke /Irish HEART Foundation this Sunday from 12pm-3pm. It will be a mind, body and soul awareness day, allowing people to sample various therapies from acupunctur­e to colour therapy, hypnothera­py.

McLynn’s traditiona­l carol night will take place this Sunday at 9pm in McLynn’s Bar. Hear classic carols such as the Wexford Carol, the Sussex Carol and more.
