Fined for Market Yard fight

A man involved in a brawl in the Market Yard last October has been convicted and fined ¤300.

Sligo District Court heard on 13th December that Sebastien Panczyszak (40) of Mountain Drive, Ballymote, was arrested and charged after he was seen fighting among a group of men at 9.45pm on Saturday 13th October.

Sgt Derek Butler said Panczyszak had four previous conviction­s. Defence solicitor Mr Tom MacSharry said his client pleaded guilty to the charge but “wasn’t the principle player.”

Panczyszak apologised to the court and Judge Kilrane fined him ¤300.

Separately, Sylwia Furmanczyk (45) of Connolly Street, pleaded guilty to Public Order offences on Old Market Street last September 6 th.

The court heard Furmanczyk was seen “extremely intoxicate­d” and became abusive when Gardaí spoke to her, saying “Kiss my ass.”

She apologised for her behaviour. Judge Kilrane convicted and fined her ¤300.
