CHRISTMAS SWIM

The annual Lough Arrow Christmas Day swim in aid of North West Hospice takes place at 1 p.m. at Flynn’s pier via Ballindoon. Please support participan­ts as generously as ever, or if you would like to participat­e contact Mary (086 8733485) for sponsorshi­p card or go through our Facebook page. In conjunctio­n with the Swim there will be a table quiz in Des’s bar on January 5 at 9 p.m. Please support; you won’t have to win to win a prize.

CHARITY SHAVE

A Charity Shave night was held recently in Des McDonagh’s Pub the ‘Bow and Arrow’, Heapstown. Well done to the 12 bearded gents who shaved their recently grown beards to raise money for two very worthy charities. Alzheimer’s Centre in Aughamore received €4,450 and €3,000 was raised for Sligo Cancer Centre. It was a fantastic night and a huge thank you to all who got involved and thank you to everyone who supported the event.

CAKE SALE THANK YOU

The staff and parents of Taunagh NS would like to thank everyone who supported their Christmas Sale on Saturday, December 8. There were cakes, decoration­s and cards on sale on the day and the school was delighted to welcome the Razor Sharps, who sang a selection of songs. It was a wonderful community event and the money raised will go towards new playground markings.
