AWARDS NIGHT – The annual club awards night and charity match will take place on Friday, December 28, It will start in the afternoon with the charity match in the main pitch where it is hoped the intermedia­te championsh­ip winning team of 1998 will take to the field. After the game our under-14 hurlers will receive their A championsh­ip and league medals. Our under-16 league winners will also receive their medals. That evening the current senior squad will receive their division two league winner’s medals. The team of 1998 will be honoured by the club on the night also. The usual awards will be presented later in the evening at the club social. It should be great night in Muddy Burns.

CAMOGIE – Congratula­tions to the girls of Corballa National School, who won the Sligo NS camogie competitio­n in Scarden last week. The girls and boys of the school now hold the two county hurling titles in Sligo which is a great achievemen­t. Well done to the players, teachers and coaches.

LOTTO – Our lotto is now at €18,100 as there was no winner the weekend of December 15. At this time of year the club would like to thank all the outlets who sell our weekly ticket in the area, Mahoneys Bar, Muddy Burns, The Hilltop Culleens, Checkout, Centra, Hopkins and Igoes Butchers Enniscrone, Judges Shop and Garage, Ballina, Paddy Macs and Mulligans Pharmacy Ballina. Thanks also to those individual­s who sell weekly tickets too. It is very much appreciate­d by all in the club.

THE KUBE – The club would like to thank all who were involved in any way with the Kube. The final figure was close to €7,000 which was a very good figure. The club have also received a grant from Connacht council of €3,500 which is to be used with the new fencing around the main pitch. The club gym is almost ready which will be a great addition to all club members.

CLUB AGM – The club AGM will take place in early January having been called off due to bereavemen­t last week. Congratula­tions to Bart Barrins, who was elected as Sligo PRO at the county convention last week.

CONDOLENCE­S – The club would like to offer their sympathies to the family and friends of Damien Hanley, Teresa Foody, Joe Buggy Dublin, Michael Tuffy and Peggy Cawley. HOSPICE THANKS.

Mayo Roscommon Hospice would like to thank all the volunteers who helped with their Christmas appeal in the various towns and also for their kind assistance over the past year with other fundraisin­g events. Their willingnes­s to help our cause is much appreciate­d. Thanks also to all who organised and participat­ed in various fundraisin­g event over the year. Rest assured all funds raised will go to supporting local hospice palliative care services. The Foundation wishes them and their families a very happy Christmas and look forward to their continued support.
