The Junk Kouture event has been expanding in recent years and there have been numerous contestants from Sligo taking part.
After much deliberation last week, the Bank of Ireland Junk Kouture announced which winning designs will go forward to represent their school in the next stage in March.
Spectacular outfits from five regions North, South, West, East and Dublin have been chosen to compete.
The semi- finals will take place in these areas in the first week of March ahead of the grand final.
Megan Kelly, Operations Manager, said the talent has been phenomenal from the young designers.
She said: “We were blown away by the standard and imagination of this year’s entries, the judges have had the most difficult job since the competition has begun, to decide who should go forward to the semi-finals.
“We also had more entries this year, which made the decision choosing process even more challenging.”
