Ballygawley public lighting
A route between a Ballygawley housing estate and a local pub is too costly to light up. Sinn Féin Councillor Thomas Healy asked the council to consider providing extra public lighting from Callaghan’s Pub to Riocht Na Sí estate in Ballygawley in the interests of health and safety and to enhance the village. However Council Senior Engineer Tom Brennan reported back that the pub is 500m from the estate and from the limits of the village. He said extending the public lighting this distance would be “extremely expensive” and “unlikely” to be feasible both for technical and cost reasons. Cllr Healy asked to carry out a costing of the project.
