RESULTS - Although conditions were challengin­g , the Spring League finally got started after the unavoidabl­e course closure of the previous weekend. Willie Tiernan endured the tough weather better than most, winning this weeks round with a score of 39 points, just pipping Michael Simon’s 38. Paul Connolly took the bronze with 36 points. No prize was awarded for a gross score this week. Round 3 is now available to book online for next weekend. FIXTURES - The big event in the club calendar for February is the Captains and Lady Captains “DriveIn” on Sunday the 24th of February when captains Seamus Gallagher and Regina McLoughlin will get Boyle’s golfing year off to its official start.

WE ask all members to come along to this most social of occasions and show support for your captains for the year.

THE format of the competitio­n itself on the day will be a 9 hole scramble for ladies and gents, a draw for teams will be made on the day, no need for prior arrangemen­ts.

MEMBERSHIP- Members are reminded that fees for 2019 are now due .

MEMBERSHIP letters are currently being issued but for anyone wishing to go ahead and pay by online banking, the club account IBAN is IE59BOFI90­5328224397­00, please include your name as the reference.

THE rates remain unchanged from last year, some of the main membership category prices are - Junior Member (under 18) - 60 euro, 1st year beginner - 170 euro, Under 30 member - 275 euro, Full Single Member - 395 euro, Family Membership - 660 euro, Senior Member - 275 euro, Distant Member Single - 185 euro.

BOYLE GAA I’M A CELEB GET ME OUT OF HERE - Best of luck to Boyle GAA with this ambitious fundraiser with which a number of our club members are involved behind the scenes, none of whom feature as prominentl­y as Karl Keenan who has been foolhardy enough to volunteer as one of the participan­ts. HIS stomach-turning exploits will be on display in St Josephs Hall on the 16th of March at 8pm! Good luck Karl.

FLYNN’S Bar Sponsors Spring League. FIRST Round Results.

THE first round of the Flynn’s Bar Spring League started this weekend with over 132 players in the league it is one of the largest spring leagues ever in the club with only one point between the top two teams it is all to play for over the coming weeks with the top score in the Ladies section from Lorna Baker 16 points (back 6) and an excellent score of 24points from Michael Mo Duffy in the Men’s Section. PLAYERS are reminded that round 2 starts on Mon- day 11th to Sunday 17th players note collect cards at office enter score name and date you can re- enter at no cost as often as you like.

IT is important that all Team Captains ensure that all there team play .

THE Annual Table Quiz hosted by Castledarg­an Ladies Golf Club will be held on Friday 22nd February at 8.30pm. in Castledarg­an Hotel.
